Keynote Speakers, Experts and Governing Board Member/Representatives and the Centre’s Management Staff

SEAMEO VOCTECH’s Proposed 4th Five Year Development Plan (2009/2010-2013/2014 was the focal point of the Experts and Special Governing Board Meeting, 5-7 May 2008. Presentation of the Centre’s Vision, Mission, and the Five Key Result Areas from Training for Professional Development, Research and Development, Knowledge Management and Information Sharing, Networking and Partnerships, Organizational Capacity to Financial Viability and Management pre-dominated the event. Moreover, trends and issues sharing, reporting, workshops and a Special Governing Board Meeting paved way to the finalization of the Development Plan.

SEAMEC President visits SEAMEO VOCTECH

Eighth January 2008 was the auspicious visit of His Excellency, Prof. Dr. Bambang Sudibyo, SEAMES Council President and Minister of National Education of Indonesia to SEAMEO VOCTECH, Brunei Darussalam.  Current programmes, achievements and challenges were updates that had been presented to the honourable visitor. Director Mohamad also expressed the Centre’s delight and gratitude for his special visit. He also highlighted the significant coordination between Indonesia and the Centre on the forthcoming Conference on “VTE Research and Networking 2008 to be held at the Inna Grand Bali Beach Hotel, in Bali, Indonesia from 7-8 July 2008.

“Get-Together and Know us-Better Briefing”

Thirty-five (35) Members of the Diplomatic Mission in Brunei Darussalam/ or the Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Honorary Consuls/Representatives and Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the International Desk of the MOE, Brunei Darussalam lent their precious time to visit SEAMEO VOCTECH and participated in the  Briefing Session on 25 February 2008; 2:00-4:30 p.m. The Director, Mr. Mohamad Abu Bakar, together with the Staff did achieve the purpose of the day. This was on information about the Centre’s mandate on improving VTET in the SEAMEO Countries or even beyond, through human resources development and establishing a better relationship among the embassies and commissions with the Centre. The Dean, Ambassador Virginia Benavidez of the Philippines, extended her thanks and appreciation on the Centre’s dynamism and its goal of true service.
