SEAMEO
COUNCIL President, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam was gladly
received to the Centre by the Director, Mohamad bin Abu
Bakar and the Staff on 27 January 2007. As the Guest of
Honour in the Launching Ceremonies of SEAMEO VOCTECH’s
ICT Accredited Training Programmes and the
Creativity and Innovation Centre, he stated:
“ I am heartened by the work of SEAMEO VOCTECH in
helping Member Countries to improve the quality of
vocational and technical training.
I would like to congratulate VOCTECH on the
introduction of these new IT courses for the changing
needs of the industry.
I wish VOCTECH continued success in its efforts to
work closely with other SEAMEO Centres and Member
Countries in developing our human capital.” |

MOU
was signed on 29 November 2006 by SEAMEO VOCTECH Director,
Mohamad bin Abu Bakar
and Rajamangala University of Technology,
Thanyaburi, Thailand President, Dr. Numyoot Songthanipitak
to enhance cooperation on areas focusing on educational
and human resources development through fellowship and
staff programmes, joint research and consultancy services,
etc. |

MOA
was signed by the SEAMEO VOCTECH Director and Messrs.
Wilson Wong of Wordware and Stephen Teo of Certiport. The
partnership will enable the Centre to provide the Internet
and Computing Core certification (IC3) and Microsoft
Office Specialist (MOS) standards-based training and
certification program as highlighted by Mohd Saiful bin Hj
Omar, ICT Manager/Specialist/Coordinator. |

MOA
between the Centre and Maktab Jefri Bolkiah Kejuteraan on
9 October 2006 was signed by the Director and the MKJB
Principal Ibrahim bin Abd Rahman. The collaboration
resulted into facilitating the implementation of the
project funded by the Association for Overseas Technical
Scholarship or AOTS, /Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry, Japan on “ Environmental Management
Systems and Standards for the Industry” Training
Programme. This course, 6-11 November 2006 at MKJB
involving 22 VTET officers, and researchers, envisioned
the adoption of quality management, cleaner environment
management system by ASEAN industries. It developed a
cadre of professionals who will be future implementors of
the programmes aforementioned. |

MOA
on 7 September 2006 was sealed by the Director and Dr.
Murtoyo of the Pusat Pengembangan Penaturan Guru or
Technical Teacher Upgrading Centre of Malang, Indonesia.
Areas of regular training programme, sandwich capability
programme, customised training programme, staff exchange
programme and consultancy services will be pursued. The
two institutions entered into an earlier partnership in
2000 where an entrepreneurship skills course and
consultation visits were conducted at VEDC, Malang. |
