SEAMEO VOCTECH's Announcement for Contributors on the Journal, Issue December 2006

Guidelines for Contributors

All professional staff, academicians, trainers, officers in Vocational and Technical Education Institutes both within and outside the SEAMEO region, are invited to contribute to SEAMEO VOCTECH Journal on Vocational and Technical Education and Training. To be considered for this publication please follow the guidelines below. 

Address for Submission

1.  Contributors are invited to submit their articles to the following address:

 Copyright

2.  All contributions must be original and not published elsewhere. Contributors must also ensure that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify SEAMEO VOCTECH against any breach of copyright laws.

3.  To ensure proper policing of use SEAMEO VOCTECH holds the copyright of any articles published in the journal unless otherwise agreed. 

Article Format Required

Word Length

4. Articles should be between 2000 -4000 words in total, including appendices, bibliographies etc.

Theory and Technical Terms

5.  Discussion of theory and research should be short, any technical terms used must be explained to enable readers without much familiarity in the topic chosen to comprehend what has been explained.

Word Processing

6.  Articles should preferably be typed in MS Word, double-spaced throughout. Author’s name and title of article should be included in the cover page. However, on occasions whereby word processing facilities are not available, a clean and neat typewritten copy of the articles should be submitted.

7.   Articles may be submitted by regular mail or electronic mail to voctech@brunet.bn or paryono@mail.voctech.org.bn

Author’s Biodata

8.  Articles must be accompanied by the author’s biodata of about 50 words.

9.  Author’s address and Contact numbers, including e-mail address, must also be provided Please inform SEAMEO VOCTECH of any change in address, temporary or permanent.

Title

10.   Articles must be accompanied by a title. 

Abstract

11.   Articles must be accompanied by an abstract, in  a separate sheet of paper, summarizing the contents of the article in not more than 200 words.

References

12.  Any references made should be cited fully, as shown below:

Make brief citations, giving the page numbers for the passage to which reference is made such as (Naisbitt, 1995, 16-18) .

12 2 . End of Article

All references must be typed in full bibliography, double-spaced, on a separate page, under the headings

REFERENCES. These references must be arranged alphabetically, by surnames as shown below: 
a)    For books
Surname, initials. (year of publication). Title, Place of publication: Publisher.
Naisbitt,  J.(1995). Megatrends AsiaLondon: Nicholas Brealey Publishing.
(b)  For chapter
Surname, initials. (year). Title, ed’s surname, initial (Ed), title of the book. Place of publication publisher,  pages.
Todd, R.W. (1997). Textual Patterns in Teacher’s Learning, in James, J. (Ed), RELC Journal, Singapore: SEAMEO Regional Language Centre , pp. 3-4.

     (c)  For article

Surname, initials. (Year). Title, Journal/magazines,, pages.
SnitWongse, K. (1995, March). An expanding ASEAN: The Political Dimension, ASEAN-ISIS Monitor, pp 13-15.

Review of Articles

13.  All submitted articles will be reviewed by the Editorial Board before acceptance

14.  Upon request for amendments, contributors are strongly advised to keep to the deadlines given. 

Honorarium

15.  There would be no honorarium paid to contributor. However, all contributors will receive 3 copies of the printed journal.

16.  SEAMEO VOCTECH would like to emphasise that all opinions expressed in the published articles are those of the authors of the respective articles and do not necessarily reflect the views of SEAMEO VOCTECH, the Department of Technical Education, Brunei Darussalam nor of any member government of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation.
