- In
the endeavor to continuously strengthen its research
network in Southeast Asia and beyond and to provide an
avenue for sharing research experiences in vocational
and technical education, the Regional Centre for
Vocational and Ministers of Education Organisation
(SEAMEO VOCTECH) with its partner will be holding the
2nd International Conference on VTE Research and
Networking 2010. The first international conference was
held in Bali, Indonesia on 7 – 8 July 2008.

- This
international conference is held by SEAMEO VOCTECH in
collaboration with international partners such as The
Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNESCO Bangkok, Institute of Technical Education,
Singapore, Yogyakarta State University, Indonesia and
University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), and with local
partners such as Institut
Teknologi Brunei, Department of Technical Education, and
Department of ICT of the Ministry of Education, Brunei
Darussalam. Keynote speakers from various
continents will be invited for plenary
sessions.

- The
22 researchers representing 11 SEAMEO member countries
under the Southeast
Asian Vocational Education Research Network (SEAVERN)
will also be invited to present their research findings
from the 2nd and 3rd cycles of
SEAVERN projects in parallel sessions. The organiser is
calling for paper presenters
for parallel sessions to provide opportunities for
researchers, lecturers
and policymakers to share their findings, best practices
and policies relevant
to vocational and technical education. Poster sessions,
exhibits and opportunities for informal networking will
also be organised.

Speakers |
- Keynote Speakers will be invited to
present their papers in line with the theme of the
conference. The Organising Committee also invites paper
presenters for the Parallel Sessions. Paper
presentations in parallel sessions will be allotted 20
minute-delivery and a five-minute question and answer
session. All Presenters are encouraged to bring about 20
copies of their Paper for the audience.

Procedure for Submission of Papers |
- A paper abstract of 200-250 words –
with a title, not exceeding twelve words, author’s
name, affiliation, e-mail, conference sub-theme; Content
of abstract must include: objectives, methodology /
points of discussion / research. Abstract should be
emailed to the Conference Secretariat at voctech@brunet.bn
/ conference@voctech.org.bn
no later then Friday, 14
May 2010.

- The Paper Review Committee will inform
the Abstract Sender by Tuesday, 18 May 2010,
whether the proposal has been accepted.
-
- Soft and hard copies of the Full Paper
selected for the conference must be sent to the
Conference Secretariat no later than Monday, 7 June 2010. If these materials are not received by this
date, the Organising and Planning Committee reserves the
right to withdraw the paper from presentation.

Criteria for Acceptance |
- Relevance to the theme of the
conference and freshness and originality of approach are
among the major considerations in the acceptance of
papers. The Organising and Planning Committee reserves
the right to decline paper proposals without assigning
reasons.
